Diode Laser vs Alexandrite: Which One Should You Choose for Hair Removal?

Selective photothermolysis works by destroying “targets” in the skin without damaging surrounding tissue. A specific wavelength of laser light is aimed at a specific target — the laser beam locks onto the melanin pigment in the hair shaft and in the haemoglobin of the blood vessels supplying the follicle.

The alexandrite laser operates at a wavelength of 755 nm, which falls in the red part of the visible light spectrum.
