The Fotona Nd:YAG laser is designed to treat vascular damage on the surface of the skin caused by conditions such as rosacea. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory response to reactive oxygen species in the skin cell.

How does the procedure work?

This powerful laser works by coagulating the troublesome blood vessels visible on the surface of the skin. Rosacea is caused by the troublesome reactive oxygen species, but the Fotona Nd:YAG laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm can treat a wide range of pigmentation and vascular problems. The laser’s long pulse setting targets red, purple, and violet pigmentation in the blood vessels, reducing their size and intensity.

Fotona treatments are fast and effective, with patients requiring a series of treatments ranging from a single session to monthly intervals depending on the size and intensity of the area being treated. The laser energy may cause a slight stinging and warming sensation. How many treatments are needed?

There may be slight redness and swelling for 1-2 days, but no special recovery period is required. Most patients will see some immediate results, with optimal results occurring over a period of 2-3 months. We recommend a course of 3-4 treatments for optimal results.
