What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal emits light energy that reaches the hair follicle and targets its pigment – melanin. On contact with the skin, the laser light is transformed into heat, which destroys the hairs. The laser beam is harmless to the skin because it targets only the hair structures.
Laser hair removal also removes ingrown hairs and improves conditions involving follicle problems, boils and pimples.
What is the difference between IPL and laser hair removal?
Lasers produce a single wavelength of light (pure light consisting of one single colour and form) with a highly concentrated beam and a specific target (the melanin in the hair follicle).
IPL machines are not lasers. They produce a broad spectrum of wavelengths (like a light bulb) and cannot be focused into a concentrated beam. Since the different wavelengths are dispersed at different depths, only some of them are effective at reducing hair growth. With IPL technology, light penetration is very superficial and thick hairs cannot be treated effectively.
The laser, on the other hand, works with energy many times stronger than IPL and accordingly achieves better results. Since the heat is absorbed by the follicle rather than the skin, there is a reduced risk of burns. This makes the laser one of the safest hair removal options worldwide.
How many sessions are needed to completely remove unwanted hair?
It is strictly individual for each person, but you will see a great result after the very first session. For women it typically takes 5 to 7 sessions, and for men 6 to 8 sessions for complete hair removal.
Why is it important to shave the treated area before your laser hair removal session?
It is strongly recommended to shave the area we will be treating, because any hair above the surface of the skin will block the laser from reaching the hair follicle, which is necessary for the treatment to be maximally effective.
Is laser hair removal suitable in summer?

Is laser treatment painful?
