ROSACEA
Skin prone to redness and rosacea, and how to treat the condition succesfully in SATORI!
What is Rosacea?
Rosacea is a common inflammatory skin condition that causes redness on the face or other parts of the body, including the eyes. Different types of rosacea can cause pimples and swelling on your skin.
The four different types of rosacea include:
- Erythematotelangiectatic: Rosacea is persistent and causes redness on the face with dilated and visible blood vessels (vascular). This type is characterized by flare-ups, in which symptoms come and go unexpectedly.
- Papulopustular: Pus- or fluid-filled bumps form on the skin. Your skin may swell, and the symptoms are similar to acne.
- Phytomatosis: Symptoms cause swelling and thickening of your skin. Your skin may be bumpy and most commonly affect your nose. Symptoms can make your nose look lumpy (rhinophyma).
- Eye: Rosacea can affect your eyes, making them feel irritated, bloodshot, or watery. Your eyes may be sensitive to light, and painful bumps (styes) may form on your eyelids.

Do I have Rosacea?
The appearance of rosacea can vary greatly from person to person. In most cases, not all of the potential signs will appear. Rosacea always includes at least one of the main signs, such as:
- Redness: Many people who suffer from rosacea have a history of frequent redness, called flushing. Facial redness that may come and go is the earliest sign of the condition.
- Persistent redness: Persistent facial redness may resemble redness or a sunburn that doesn’t go away.
- Bumps and pimples: Small, red, hard bumps or pus-filled pimples appear on your skin. Sometimes the bumps can look like acne, but rosacea doesn’t cause blackheads. There may be a burning or stinging sensation.
- Visible blood vessels: Small blood vessels that look like thin, red lines become visible under your skin.
