Vascular Removal

Safe, effective, and minimally invasive

Laser treatments are now a routine procedure for removing many types of vascular lesions, including hemangiomas, vascular malformations such as port-wine stains, telangiectasias, venous lakes, and angiomas.

The Perfect Vascular Solution

Long-pulse Nd:YAG lasers offer the perfect solution for treating vascular lesions. Fotona’s long-pulse Nd:YAG lasers penetrate to a depth of 5-6 mm into the skin, allowing for highly effective treatment. Independent research shows that over 75% of patients with deep hemangiomas treated with Nd:YAG lasers observe dramatic lesion regression.

Recommendations for the treatment

2 weeks before:

  • Do not expose the area to sun or tanning beds.

How the treatment works

  • The skin is cleansed and protective goggles are put on.

  • You feel a mild sting or warmth, often with brief cooling of the skin.

  • Duration: 15–30 minutes (depending on the area).

  • After the treatment there may be mild redness or swelling – a normal reaction.

With deeper vessels, the following is possible:

  • darkening or a “grey line” along the vessel (a sign that it has been coagulated),

  • mild skin tightening for 1–2 days.

Requirements
  • Do not use self-tanners.

  • Stop products with retinol, acids (AHA/BHA), and peels.

  • Keep the skin hydrated and calm.

3–5 days before:

  • Avoid sauna and aggressive treatments (microneedling, dermaplaning, etc.).

  • If you have an active infection, a wound, or herpes – inform the doctor; the treatment will be postponed.

  • If you are prone to cold sores – prophylaxis with aciclovir may be prescribed.

Additional information

Post-treatment care

First 24–48 hours:

  • Avoid hot showers, sauna, steam baths, sport, and heavy sweating.

  • Do not rub the skin and avoid harsh cosmetics.

  • You may apply thermal water, a soothing aloe vera gel, or panthenol.

  • If there is swelling – short cold compresses.

After 2–7 days:

  • The vessels may darken and then gradually fade.

  • Do not rub them – the body resorbs them on its own.

Sun protection:

  • Extremely important: SPF 50+ daily for at least 4 weeks.

  • Avoid direct sun, tanning beds, and peels for 3–4 weeks.

Cosmetics and makeup:

  • Light makeup may be used after 24 hours if there is no irritation.

  • Gentle cleansing and maintaining hydration.

Additionally:

  • After the series of treatments, it can be combined with Genesis laser, mesotherapy, exosomes, or biorevitalisation to improve texture and capillary stability.

  • Maintain good hydration and capillary protection – products with niacinamide, vitamin C, and anthocyanins (grape extracts).

  • Avoid sudden temperature changes and alcohol for at least 48 hours after the treatment.
