How does it work?
Alexandrite laser hair removal is one of the most effective methods for permanent hair reduction. It uses a 755 nm wavelength laser, which is particularly effective on light to medium skin tones with dark hair.
The laser emits concentrated light that is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle. This light converts to heat, destroying the follicle and preventing new hair from growing.
Alexandrite laser hair removal is performed at specific time intervals depending on the natural hair growth cycle. Sessions for facial areas are usually scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks, and every 6 to 8 weeks for the body.
The number of required sessions varies depending on individual skin and hair characteristics, but most clients need between 6 and 8 sessions for optimal results. After that, occasional maintenance sessions once or twice a year may be needed.
Following the treatment schedule is important because the laser works most effectively when the hair is in the active growth phase (anagen phase).
Advantages of GentleLase Pro
High effectiveness
The powerful 755 nm alexandrite technology targets melanin directly in the hair root and delivers fast, visible results.
Fewer sessions
The high energy output allows better destruction of the follicle, often reducing the number of sessions needed.
Fast zone treatment
The large spot size allows shorter treatment time even for larger areas like the back and chest.
Comfort
The built-in Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) minimises discomfort and protects the skin.
Safety
Precise settings allow individual control according to skin and hair type, minimising the risk of unwanted reactions and ensuring consistent results.
Long-lasting results
After a completed course, permanent reduction of unwanted hair is achieved.
How does the procedure work?
1. Consultation and parameter assessment
Before the first session a consultation is held during which the specialist assesses skin and hair type, discusses the client’s health status and expected results. Individual device settings are selected based on this assessment.
2. Area preparation
The area to be treated must be shaved in advance (usually 12–24 hours before). The skin must be clean, free of creams, oils or makeup. If necessary, protective goggles are provided for both the client and the specialist.
3. The procedure itself
The laser emits pulses directed at the melanin in the hair root, destroying the hair follicle. Thanks to the built-in Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD), a cooling cryogen is sprayed onto the skin immediately before each pulse, protecting the skin and reducing discomfort. The procedure is relatively fast – small areas take a few minutes, while larger areas such as the back or chest take around an hour.
4. Immediately after the procedure
Some redness or slight swelling of the skin may appear, which subsides within a few hours. A soothing product is applied if needed.
5. Aftercare
Sun exposure and tanning beds should be avoided for a specified period, and a high-SPF sunscreen should be used when going outdoors. Hair begins to shed gradually within 1–3 weeks after treatment.
6. Number of sessions required
Several sessions are needed for optimal results, typically at 4–8 week intervals depending on the area and individual hair growth cycle.
F A Q
Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Alexandrite laser hair removal. Make an informed decision about the service that is most suitable for you.
When will I see results?
Results are visible after the first session — hair begins to fall out within 1–3 weeks, and with each subsequent session the re-growth becomes weaker and more sparse.
Is it suitable for all skin types?
The alexandrite laser is most effective on light to medium skin with dark hair. For darker skin tones the specialist will adjust the parameters or recommend an alternative technology for maximum safety.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure feels like a light snap or warmth on the skin. Modern devices feature a cooling system which significantly reduces discomfort and makes the therapy more comfortable.
Are there any side effects?
Temporary redness or slight swelling around the hair follicles may occur, which subsides within a few hours. When treatment guidelines are followed and the procedure is performed by a trained specialist, the risk of unwanted reactions is minimal.
How many sessions are needed?
Typically between 6 and 8 sessions are needed, depending on the area, skin type and hair density. They are performed every 4–8 weeks to cover the different phases of the hair growth cycle.
Can I have alexandrite laser hair removal with a tan?
Alexandrite laser is not recommended when there is an active tan or very dark skin, as melanin in the skin may absorb the laser energy and cause unwanted reactions. For darker skin we recommend our Soprano Titanium, which is safe for all phototypes including tanned skin.
How do I prepare for the procedure?
Shave the area 12–24 hours before the procedure. Do not use waxing or threading at least 4 weeks prior — the hair must have a root for the laser to destroy it. Avoid sun and tanning beds for 2 weeks before the procedure.
What is the difference between alexandrite and diode laser?
The alexandrite laser (755 nm) is more powerful and faster — ideal for light to medium skin with dark hair. The diode laser (Soprano Titanium) works more safely on darker skin types and tanned skin. At SATORI we have both devices, which allows us to choose the most suitable one for you.
How much does alexandrite laser hair removal cost at SATORI?
Prices depend on the area and number of sessions. We offer 5+1 session packages at a more attractive rate. For the current price list visit our prices page or call 0882 900 999.
